Drone Sector is an alter ego and indefinite (immersive) audiovisual project by Stan Herben. It serves as a realm to explore the intersection between technology, nature and psychology. And to reach new understandings about where our future could lead towards, regarding technological advancements and society.

It is inspired by the idea that in the not so far future, humans are most likely to create a society build upon machines, creating a sector filled with drones that will work for humanity, resulting in an utopian reality, where humans are free to do what they want to do.

But what does this freedom really mean? How will the use of technology change the way we interact with the world around us?

With a deep interest in the relationship between humans and machines, Stan Herben creates complex sonic and visual landscapes that can draw the viewer into a world that is at once familiar and alien. Through a combination of ambient soundscapes, glitchy electronic rhythms, and abstract imagery, Stan explores the boundaries of perception and consciousness, inviting the viewer to reflect on the nature of reality and the role that technology plays in shaping our understanding of it.
