Extinct Voices

Year: 2022
Project: WTWLI

Extinct Voices is a series of four generative artworks made by Drone Sector for the meditation app called “Where The Wild Love Is”. This app is the only meditation app that integrates wildlife, art, biodiverse soundscapes, and science to create a unique and immersive experience for the user. In this series, Drone Sector explores the intersection between generative art and the nature of birds, specifically extinct birds. Through the use of vivid colors and subtle movements, he brings these extinct birds back to life in a dreamy world that engages the meditator and encourages them to enter a meditative state.

The use of generative art can be particularly intriguing, as each piece is created through a unique set of rules and algorithms, resulting in an artwork that is constantly evolving and never the same. This allows for a truly immersive and dynamic experience for the user, as they are able to engage with the artwork in a unique way each time. The inclusion of extinct birds in this series is a poignant reminder of the impact that humans have had on the natural world, and the importance of protecting and preserving our environment. Through the use of art and technology, Drone Sector creates a bridge between the past and present, allowing us to connect with these extinct birds in a way that was previously impossible.
